Karibu means welcome in Swahili, the language spoken widely across East Africa. The word Swahili in our name refers to the area to where we get our handmade crafts from. We will handpick and support local artisans and makers from within the area where Swahili is spoken. That means most of our item are from Tanzania but you may also occasionally see things from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
